What is Coaching?

Coaching is the art of facilitating insights. Insights are followed by actions and commitment which lead to a higher level of life fulfillment and/or performance. Coaching is a process of awareness, learning and realization of inner potential. It is a professional partnership between a qualified coach and an individual or team that support the achievement of intangible and tangible results, based on goals set by the individual or team. Coaching is about powerful questions as we believe that each individual has its own answers. It is also a journey. Coaching empowers you to overcome challenges and to achieve your goals.

When is Coaching Successful?

Coaching is successful when clear goals have been set and there is awareness, understanding and action towards the realization of the objectives. We support you in your ideas. We also monitor your own committed action items and thus your progress. And we stretch you from time to time. Success is a function of circumstances (out of your control, e.g. luck) and work (in your control). While working on the points which you define as success and goals, you will ultimately lead yourself to a higher level of satisfaction, intrinsic learning, performance, motivation, balance, excellence and fulfillment. This is not only beneficial for you, but also for your work/life balance, relationship, career, leadership skills, and also for your team and organization as a whole.

How do you coach?

The coaching process can have many forms and depends on each individual or organization and the set goals. The basic three steps are:

  1. Goal Setting: We guide and support you in the goal setting process and you clearly identify where you are and where you want to be.
  2. Action: A sound strategy and realistic planning helps you in your own defined actions. We support you in your process of planning, strategizing and putting things into action.
  3. Accountability. We monitor your progress and assist you in staying on track and support you in your commitment to success.

Our approach is the Socratic method. We ask questions and listen. We listen to what you say and what you do not say. We are non-judgmental and have no agenda. Our goal is that you achieve your set objectives. We inspire you to critical thinking, reflection, to be honest to yourself and we stretch you to put your own ideas into action.

Do I have to have a clear vision or goal before contacting you?

No. Some of our customers do not have a clear goal or vision. Most of them are in a transition, some of them are unclear about the now and the future; some of them “stuck” in private life or in their career or leadership. And some of them have very clear goals. We are here to support you in your journey and in finding clarity in your goals.

Am I coachable? What does this mean - coachable?

In general our customers have a need. A need to change something they are not satisfied with in their private or professional life or both. They are aware that the process of change is not an easy path. Being coachable requires that you are honest to yourself, ready, committed, accountable for your actions and willing to change.

Coaching – Therapy – Consulting – Mentoring – What is the difference?

Coaching: We ask and listen. We focus on the present and your future. You know what is best for you and you know your own speed level and commitment to put your dreams and hopes into action. You are who you are and you are the expert. We support you in this process and externalize your inner feelings, willpower, mind and thoughts to achieve your potential.

Therapy: Therapy looks into the past to deal with traumas, anxiety, depression, disorders and other emotional challenges. We are not trained psychotherapists. We do not offer therapy.

Consulting: A Consultant is an expert who gives recommendations based on his/her expertise. We are not consultants. We don’t advise and we don’t tell you what to do. We coach you to excel in your untapped potential.

Mentoring: A mentor is somebody who has an expertise in a certain field. Based on her or his long-time experience in an industry, sector, company or organization she/he advises and guides you.

Depending on topic and with your permission we can partly act also as a sounding board or mentor by challenging the effectiveness of your ideas or actions. However, in general we are aware that you know best what is good for you and we do what we are good at – coaching you.

Do you offer free consultation?

Yes, we do. Just contact us and we can set up a face-to-face meeting, skype call or phone call – according to your schedule and time zone.

Are you certified Coaches?

Yes. Gregor is an ACC (Associate Certified Coach) granted by the ICF (International Coaching Federation). The ICF is the largest governing body for coaches worldwide. He is an ICF member and also ICF member in the Bangkok Chapter.

What about confidentiality, trust and ethics?

One of the basic ground rules for an equal partnership between Coach and Coachee is trust and a “fit” between the two. Confidentiality is a given. As certified coaches we adhere to the ICF guidelines and Code of Ethics.

What is the number of coaching sessions you recommend? Over which period of time? And frequency per month?

We recommend 10-12 sessions each at 1 hour over a period of 3 to 6 to 12 months. Usually sessions take place 1 to 3 times per months. Overall the period can be shortened or extended and the sessions as well. This depends on you, your needs, your schedule and by nature also your goals and time frame. We will discuss the appropriate duration and scheduling with you. Please feel free to contact us.

Are all sessions face-to-face? Where do they take place? What about Skype? Or by Phone?

All forms of communication have their own advantages (time, efficiency, commuting, etc.). By nature, face-to-face meetings help to establish a faster platform of trust and a higher level of interaction. However, using skype and phone calls are also feasible. It depends on you, your schedule and our agreement. In case of face-to-face meetings, the place is your (company) location. Or, of course at our place as well which is central Bangkok. What about your Team Coaching, Team & Leadership Workshops and Cross Cultural Trainings & Workshops. What makes you special?

We are boutique and there is no standard concept. Content, material and challenges/goals of the coaching & workshops will be discussed with you and/or the organization. Our view is holistic and before we offer our service we want to understand the bigger picture and culture of the company, including the gaps and objectives. Each client, company and organization is different. So should be the team coaching, training and workshops – adapted to your needs & customized. Please feel free to consult with us.

What about cost and price levels

There is no standard and there are no fixed price levels. Price levels vary and depend on the need of individuals, teams, organizations and corporations we serve.
